Viking was a General Motors car brand for the 1929 to 1931 model years, built by the Oldsmobile division as a companion make on the GM B platform. It belonged to Alfred Sloan's companion make program, which was meant to fill price gaps in the General Motors line, and it was the only one of the four new marques priced above its parent brand, serving as the senior luxury sedan for Oldsmobile. Its 260 cubic inch, 90 degree V8 was the first automobile engine of monobloc construction and was shared with the Oakland V8. Production came to 4,058 cars in 1929.
