Ranger

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Ranger was an automobile brand of General Motors produced from 1968 to 1978 for three main markets. The original car was marketed as South Africa's Own Car and built in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, from 1968 to 1973. The European range was sold mainly in Belgium and Switzerland and produced by General Motors Continental in Antwerp, Belgium, from 1970 to 1978, with General Motors Suisse in Biel-Bienne also producing Rangers from 1970 until that factory closed in 1975; a few were sold in the Netherlands. The cars mixed parts from other General Motors products, with a body shell similar to the Opel Rekord and a Vauxhall Victor FD grille.
