IM Motors, known in Chinese as Zhiji Motors and formally Zhiji Automotive Technology, is an electric vehicle joint venture between the Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor and the Chinese technology companies Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, with SAIC Motor in control. The English name stands for Intelligence in Motion. The venture was established in December 2020, and at the April 2021 Auto Shanghai show it presented the L7 executive saloon prototype together with the LS7 sport utility concept and the Airo concept designed by Thomas Heatherwick. Production models followed in sequence: the L7 in 2022, the LS7 in 2023, the LS6 in 2023, the L6 in 2024 and the LS9 in 2025, all battery electric or extended range electric. In 2024 the company raised more than eight billion yuan in Series B financing, and it plans to sell in overseas markets through the dealer network of MG.
