Ford Performance Vehicles, usually shortened to FPV, was the performance arm of Ford Australia, a marque for high-performance models based on Ford's Australian cars. It was based in Melbourne as a joint venture between Prodrive and Ford Australia, formed in 2002 after Prodrive bought the English engineering firm Tickford, with which Ford Australia had partnered since 1991. Its range centred on the GT, F6, GS and Pursuit nameplates, powered first by the Boss V8 and the turbocharged Barra six and later by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8, and it also built the Territory-based F6X. Ford Australia announced the purchase of the FPV assets in August 2012, and the brand and its range were discontinued in 2014 after twelve years of production and marketing.
