Bell Helicopter

Bell Helicopter, now known simply as Bell and operated as Bell Textron, traces its roots to the Bell Aircraft Corporation founded on July 10, 1935, in Buffalo, New York. Textron acquired Bell Aerospace in 1960 and the helicopter business was reorganized as a distinct company, headquartered today in Fort Worth, Texas, where it builds military rotorcraft alongside a facility in Amarillo, Texas, while commercial helicopters are produced at a plant in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada, which delivered its 5,000th helicopter in December 2017. The company rebranded from Bell Helicopter to simply Bell on February 22, 2018. Its product line spans widely used commercial models such as the Bell 407, 412, 429 and 505, military attack and utility helicopters, and tiltrotor aircraft including the V-22 Osprey developed with Boeing. As a Textron subsidiary, Bell remains one of the world's most established manufacturers of both civilian and military rotorcraft.
