Westland was a British aircraft and helicopter maker founded as part of the Petters company in Yeovil, Somerset. It built the Lysander army cooperation aircraft and the Whirlwind fighter, and after the war built American-designed helicopters under licence, such as the Sea King. It later developed the Lynx, a small multi-role helicopter, and combined with Agusta in 2000 to form AgustaWestland, now part of Leonardo.
