Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Gloster Aircraft Company was a British aircraft maker based in Gloucestershire that began as the Gloucestershire Aircraft Company. It built fighters between the wars, notably the Gladiator biplane. The firm built the E.28/39, the first British jet aircraft to fly, in 1941, and the Meteor, the only Allied jet fighter to enter service during the Second World War. After designing the Javelin, Gloster was merged into Hawker Siddeley.
