All Motorcycle Engine Layouts and Designs

Engine layouts and design features used chiefly in motorcycles, scooters and other powered two- and three-wheelers, such as the V3 configuration of two cylinders in one bank and one in the other, which appeared almost entirely in two stroke Grand Prix racing motorcycles, and air cooling, a cooling design that does without a liquid radiator and has long suited light machines. An entry belongs here when the cited article describes an engine layout or design feature and ties it to motorcycles or other light two- and three-wheeled vehicles. It excludes complete engine families built for cars, aircraft or locomotives. Entries are placed by what their own cited article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
