Grumman LLV

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Grumman Long Life Vehicle, or LLV, is a right-hand-drive mail truck built mainly for the United States Postal Service, with a custom aluminum body on a chassis based on the Chevrolet S-10. Grumman manufactured it from 1986 to 1994, and at peak production one was completed about every five minutes. Its design suits local mail delivery, with a very small turning radius for reaching mailboxes. The Postal Service planned a service life of 24 years but still had over 130,000 in use in 2024, and new delivery vehicles began entering service that year to replace them. Canada Post and some other customers also bought LLVs.
