The Dennis Eagle Elite 2 is the refuse collection chassis that followed the original Elite, launched in 2003. Its cab is built from Cromweld stainless steel and certified to ECE R29, with one-step entry and exit, tall wide door openings and a nearly flat floor with stand-up height across the cab, so crews can leave from the kerb side instead of the traffic side. In Europe it came with the Cummins ISLe 280 Euro 5 engine. The Australian version, sold through Penske dealerships, offered Cummins ISL Euro V engines rated at 280 hp in the base chassis and 320 hp in the 8x4, with Allison 3000 series automatic transmissions and optional dual controls. Dennis Eagle had passed 1,000 Elite 2 registrations by 2004, and the Elite 6 followed in 2013.
