The Dennis Eagle Delta was the municipal refuse chassis that Dennis Eagle built before the Elite, and the maker lists it from 1988 to 1992. It used a Perkins Phaser 180 engine and a partially synchromeshed Eaton gearbox, and its cab was reworked to ease the physical demand on the driver and lengthen the vehicle's serviceable life. The cab was a joint design shared with Shelvoke and Drewry, which marketed it as the P-type, and most Delta chassis carried the Phoenix rear-loading refuse body, a body fitted to the Delta from 1979 to 1992. In 1992 the Elite replaced it as the UK's first low entry cab.
