Renault TRM 2000

The Renault TRM 2000 is a French four-wheel-drive military truck, as its initials say, Toutes Roues Motrices, designed for support missions in difficult terrain. It was presented in March 1981 and produced from 1982 to 1990 at an RVI plant at Blainville-sur-Orne in Calvados; the original plan was for 12,000 orders on an annual basis of 1,500 units, and in 1994 5,600 were in service. In the French army the TRM 2000 replaced the Simca Marmon and Saviem TP3 tactical vans. It takes the Club of Four cab of the Saviem J, can carry 2 tonnes, in particular 10 or 15 foot shelters on a flatbed, or 12 men, and has a gross weight of 6.3 tonnes with portal axles with double reduction. A renovation programme called RIP was launched in 2018 for the oldest examples, and several were given to the Ukrainian armed forces in 2022. A civil version went to fire brigades, EDF and other public bodies.
