The Renault TRC 36R, officially the tank supply tractor model 1936 R, is a supply vehicle designed by Renault in the late 1930s and used by the French Army at the start of the Second World War. In 1934 the army's tank branch looked for a replacement for the Citroen-Kegresse P17 tractors that carried petrol and ammunition to the tanks. Renault proposed a simplified, unarmoured version of its UE tracked carrier with a petrol trailer, the prototype ACD 1, which the army bought in 1935 and adopted in 1936, ordering 260. The first production vehicle was delivered in January 1938, but production was very slow: only 12 had been delivered by August 1939 and the last were built in January 1940, and it was not continued because the Lorraine 37L proved superior. It keeps part of the running gear and the engine of the Renault UE, weighs 2.7 tonnes empty and can reach 35 km/h, limited to 28 km/h fully loaded with its trailer. Eight survive today.
