The Renault Sherpa 5 is a tactical military truck made by Renault Trucks Defense, the Renault Trucks subsidiary that was renamed Arquus in 2018. It evolved from the Renault GBC 180 and debuted at the 2004 Eurosatory military trade fair. The Sherpa 5 is an all-wheel drive truck, built in 4x4 and 6x6 configurations, that can carry a payload of seven tons. It is used in military transport roles, and it serves as the base chassis for the CAESAR self-propelled howitzer. Sherpa 5 specification leaflets from the old Renault Trucks Defense website survive on the Internet Archive, with separate sheets for the short and long cab versions.
