Renault armoured car

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

Renault armoured cars were a number of armoured car variants produced in France during the First World War. Like most armoured cars of the period they were developed from armoured bodies fitted to commercially available large car or truck chassis, in this case chassis from Renault, and they were armed with a machine gun or a relatively small calibre gun. The variants include the Renault modele 1914 automitrailleuse on a Renault 18hp chassis, the Renault autocanon with a 37mm gun protected by a shield, and the Renault autoblindee, which was an unarmed transport with its guns removed.
