The Fiat 6605 TM 69, TM standing for Trattore Medio, is a 7 tonne truck that in practice serves mainly as an artillery tractor for guns and howitzers such as the FH-70 field howitzer and the 203/25 heavy howitzer, which the Italian Army adopted in 164 examples. It has a Fiat model 8212.02.500 six cylinder diesel engine of 13,798 cubic centimetres giving 260 horsepower and six-wheel drive. The top speed is 91 kilometres an hour with a range of 700 kilometres and a fording depth of 1.5 metres. A long cab holds both the driving position and the gun crew, while charges, shells and stores are kept in separate compartments for safety. It can alternatively serve as a personnel carrier, taking 11 soldiers in the cab and 21 in the cargo area. Variants include a cargo truck with a hydraulic crane and a repair vehicle. It was exported to Libya and Somalia.
