The Fiat 18 is a heavy military truck produced by Fiat Veicoli Industriali and used by the Italian Regio Esercito in the First World War. It was developed and produced by Fiat from 1911, but the real success came during the Great War, when the Fiat 18BL became the backbone of Italian logistics, especially in the offensives of 1916. It was the medium-heavy partner of the light Fiat 15 truck, and together they led the motorisation of the armed forces. Over 20,000 were built, and it was used by Britain, France and the Soviet Union too. The 18A, 18M and 18BL were also sold as plain chassis to coachbuilders, and a 25 seat bus version was common on bus lines. The engine is a four cylinder petrol Fiat 64, and the 18BL carried 3.5 tonnes.
