The Suzuki Equator is a mid-size pickup truck that Nissan assembled and sold under the Suzuki brand in the United States and Canada. It is based on the Nissan Frontier and was released for the 2009 model year in the United States after a debut at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. It came as a four-seat Extended Cab or a five-seat Crew Cab, and only the Crew Cab was sold in Canada. Both engines came from Nissan: a 2.5 litre QR25DE four-cylinder making 152 hp, and a 4.0 litre VQ40DE V6 making 261 hp, the V6 standard on the Crew Cab and available with four-wheel drive. It won a 2009 4x4 of the Year award from Peterson's 4Wheel and Off-Road, and 5,808 were sold in all. It was discontinued in 2010 in Canada and in 2012 in the United States.
