Fiat 650

The Fiat 650 is a medium-heavy multi-purpose truck of the Italian maker Fiat V.I. from 1960. It was meant to fill the gap in the maker's programme between the smaller Fiat 645 and the larger Fiat 642, a gap then occupied by its subsidiary OM with the zoological series, in particular the OM Tigrotto. Like the 645N, the 650N took over the chassis design of the 642, and until 1967 had the 4.6 litre Fiat 213 diesel, a six cylinder with overhead valves. It had the second generation baffo cab of the Fiat, smaller than the Fiat 690's and without a sleeping area. Its qualities and narrow width made it one of the most popular trucks of its class, and it stayed in production for 14 years. It came in four series, 650N to 650N3, and the Fiat OM X series replaced it in 1973.
