Renault Kerax

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Renault Kerax is a medium and heavy duty truck made by Renault Trucks and aimed at the construction industry, sold as a rigid body or as a tractor. It was launched in 1997 and had a full upgrade in 2006. Since 2009 it has been powered by the DXi11 11.1 litre six-cylinder diesel engine, which meets Euro V and comes in three tunings from 380 to 460 bhp, with a choice of a 16-speed manual or an automated 12-speed gearbox. The Kerax is built in Kaluga, Russia, at the Volvo Trucks factory that opened in 2009. Mack Trucks sells a rebadged Kerax as a military 8x8 logistics truck, and the Canadian Army ordered over 1,500 of them, while the truck is also often seen as a Dakar Rally support vehicle.
