The UD Quester is a line of heavy-duty trucks built by UD Trucks, the Japanese maker formerly known as Nissan Diesel, with the Volvo Group, which owned UD at the time. Launched in 2013, it was the first UD product developed for export, aimed at developing markets in Asia and Africa, and it also relates to the newer generation of the Quon sold in Japan. Production began in Bangkok, Thailand. Engines are 7.7 litre and 10.8 litre diesels, tuned for lower cost than the Volvo and Renault units they derive from, and body layouts run from 4x2 rigids to 6x4 tractors. It is assembled in South Africa from 2015 and sold in India as the Eicher Pro 8000 series, and after Isuzu acquired UD in 2021 it became the base of the Isuzu S and E series.
