Honda CB750

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Honda CB750 is an air-cooled, transverse, in-line-four-cylinder motorcycle that Honda made over several generations for the 1969 to 2008 model years, with an upright or standard riding posture. People often call it the model that defined the Universal Japanese Motorcycle, and it is counted as the first bike to earn the label superbike. Honda popularized the transverse four-cylinder layout with it, and the layout became the dominant sport bike engine layout. The CR750 is the associated works racer, and the CB750 name was revived in 2023 for the CB750 Hornet. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 4 generations: the SOHC (1969 to 1978 model years); the DOHC (1979 to 1983 model years); the Nighthawk and later (1984 to 2008 model years); the Hornet (2023 model year). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
