The Honda CBR1000RR was produced from 2004 as the successor to the 2002 CBR954RR. The same team that stood behind the MotoGP series developed it, and it had a long swingarm that accounted for 41.6 percent of its total wheelbase, Unit Pro-Link rear suspension and a dual stage fuel injection system. The 998 cc engine's crankshaft, main shaft and countershaft were positioned in a triangulated configuration, with a modest cylinder incline of 28 degrees.
