Honda redesigned the dashboard, front indicators and tail lamps of the 1987 Spree for a more aerodynamic shape, and added a glove box behind the shield at the front of the scooter, under the handlebars. The 1987 Iowa Edition Spree, a restricted version with a restricted muffler, smaller main jet and a 12:83 gear ratio, limited to 25 mph to comply with Iowa laws on mopeds, is a very rare model.
