Figure Role

This dimension groups transport figures by the role they actually performed, such as engineer, inventor or founder. One well documented example is the civil engineer, defined by Wikipedia as practicing "the application of planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, and operating infrastructure while protecting the public and environmental health." Browsing by role separates the people who designed transport systems from those who financed, operated or championed them.
