The GE C32-8 was a six-axle diesel-electric locomotive that GE Transportation Systems built in 1984 as part of the Dash 8 Series of freight locomotives. Only ten of these 3,200 horsepower locomotives were built, and all went to Conrail as road numbers 6610 to 6619, among the first locomotives of the Dash 8 line. It was essentially a V12 engine variant of the C39-8, also built for Conrail. In 1997 Conrail assigned all ten to Ballast Express service and repainted them gray. When Conrail was split between CSX and Norfolk Southern in 1999 they saw limited service until 2001. One went to Brazil as a donor for Dash 7 units, and almost all have been scrapped or cannibalized.
