Transperth C-series train

Passenger Rolling Stock and High-Speed Trainsets

The Transperth C-series trains are a class of electric multiple units, part of Alstom's X'Trapolis family of trains, delivered for Transperth as part of the Metronet project. They operate on Perth's suburban rail network and entered service on the Yanchep and Mandurah lines on 8 April 2024; as of June 2026 nine of a planned 41 were in service. In April 2018 the Public Transport Authority called for expressions of interest to build 41 six-carriage electric multiple units, and on 18 August 2019 Alstom was announced as the successful bidder against consortia of Bombardier with EDI Rail and of CAF with UGL. The contract, worth approximately 800 million euros, covers the design, supply, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of 41 six-car electric multiple units and four three-car diesel multiple units later named the ADR/ADS class, with 50 percent local content and twenty years of maintenance for the electric units. The Railcar Manufacturing and Assembly Facility at Bellevue was opened on 7 June 2021 and handed over to Alstom, and the first train was revealed on 14 August 2022.
