The Shanghai Metro AC18, renumbered 13A01 in 2014, is the class of train that runs on Line 13 of the Shanghai Metro. It was built by CSR Nanjing Puzhen, the Nanjing rolling stock works that is now a subsidiary of CRRC, and entered service in 2012. A total of 144 cars, formed as 24 trainsets, were delivered. The trains are finished in grey silver with black and pink accents, and inside they have electric strip maps, orange LED displays at the gangways and improved lighting, with mostly orange seats and purple priority seating. Propulsion equipment comes from Siemens, the same traction system family used on the PM0G trains of Hangzhou Metro and earlier on the PM0K trains of Suzhou Metro, while the bogies were designed by Siemens and built by Puzhen. The fleet is receiving new interior LCD screens that show the next and the terminal station, and its signalling is planned to move from automatic train operation at grade of automation 2 to driverless-attended grade 3 operation after 2026.
