The Regio 2N, sold by Bombardier as the Omneo, is a family of double-deck, dual-voltage electric multiple unit trains built for the French operator SNCF for its regional services (TER, Transilien and RER). The design is highly configurable: one end car is single-deck to carry wheelchair users and the other double-deck, and the intermediate cars are either double-deck without doors for seated long-distance passengers or single-deck with two double doors per side for standing short-distance passengers. Trains have six, seven, eight or ten cars, with intercity, regional or high-capacity commuter seating. It was designed by Bombardier's Crespin facility and originally built by Bombardier, but Alstom bought the company during delivery and completed the order. SNCF classes it as Z 55500 and several other series. Bombardier won a firm order for 80 trainsets on 24 February 2010, with options for up to 860 trainsets worth 8 billion euros, and the first set entered regular service in September 2013. A total of 447 trainsets have been built or are under construction at Crespin since 2012.
