The London Underground 1996 Stock is the rolling stock of the Jubilee line, built by GEC Alstom-Metro-Cammell and in service from 1997. The original 59 trains had six cars each; in 2005 a trailer car was added to each and four more seven-car trains were delivered, making 63 seven-car trains. It was ordered for the Jubilee Line Extension from Green Park to Stratford, but delays to the extension meant it entered service on the existing line, replacing the 1983 Stock. The first train was delivered in July 1996 and the last entered service on 31 July 2001. It was developed in parallel with the 1995 Stock, with the same exterior but different interiors, cabs, traction packages and bogies, and uses an Alstom bogie with rubber suspension.
