The DBAG Class 648 is a two-car diesel multiple unit operated by Deutsche Bahn for stopping regional rail services on unelectrified lines. The class is also known as the Alstom Coradia LINT 41, which is used by many railway operators across Europe. All units are in the standard Verkehrsrot red livery, although some carry the brands of the areas they operate in, such as HarzWeserBahn. In 2011 the class was used on services in Bavaria, including Nürnberg to Neuhaus and Fürth to Cadolzburg; in Lower Saxony, including Bad Harzburg to Goslar and Seesen, Braunschweig to Salzgitter and Seesen, and RB37 Uelzen to Soltau and Bremen; in North Rhine-Westphalia, including RB52 from Dortmund to Lüdenscheid and RE57 from Dortmund to Winterberg; and in Schleswig-Holstein, including Flensburg to Kiel and Lübeck to Travemünde and Puttgarden.
