CFL Class 2200 is a series of electric multiple units built by Alstom for CFL, the national railway company of Luxembourg, similar to the French SNCF Class Z 26500. They belong to the Coradia Duplex bi-level family, since CFL joined several orders from SNCF to buy 22 trains for its network, and the first contract of November 2000 included twelve three-car trainsets for CFL, intended to be pooled with those of the neighbouring Lorraine region. In 2006 EMU 2207 collided head-on with a freight train in the Zoufftgen train collision, resulting in 6 deaths. Damaged parts of the train were removed and replaced by new sections, and the train was renumbered 2223. Two carriages were ordered by CFL to reform a complete train set after the accident. The 2200 series works alongside the Class 2000 units on regional services within Luxembourg.
