Alstom Metropolis C851E (North East Line)

The Alstom Metropolis C851E for the North East Line is the third generation of electric multiple unit stock on the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit line of that name, built by Alstom under Contract 851E. It is six six-car trains, made alongside 23 three-car trains for the Circle Line at Alstom's factory in Barcelona, Spain and shipped from 2021. Alstom was the sole bidder and the roughly 250 million Singapore dollar contract was awarded on 30 April 2018. The trains supplement the C751A and C751C fleets on the Punggol Coast extension, entered service between 28 July and 28 August 2023, draw 1,500 V DC from overhead wires and run fully automated at grade of automation 4.
