The Alstom Prima II is the second generation of Alstom's Prima family of modular electric and diesel-electric mainline locomotives, presented in 2008. Like the first generation it can run under 1.5 kV and 3 kV direct current and under 15 kV 16.7 Hz and 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current. Its power ranges from 4 to 6.4 megawatts, it can haul passenger and freight trains at speeds between 140 and 200 km/h, and a freight-only variant with three-axle bogies reaches 120 km/h with 9.6 megawatts. Morocco's railway ONCF ordered twenty, and the design is the base of the Prima T8 locomotives built for Kazakhstan as the KZ8A and KZ4AT series.
