Bangladesh Railway Class 6500 is a class of 1,676 millimetre gauge diesel-electric locomotives owned by Bangladesh Railway, all 56 of them manufactured by Banaras Locomotive Works of India. In 2012 Bangladesh ordered locomotives modelled on the WDM-3A, and 26 of these, marked BED-30 and numbered 6501 to 6526, arrived in 2012, 2013 and 2014 with 3,100 horsepower and a 65:18 gear ratio. In 2020 ten WDM-3D units were imported under a grant assistance plan as BED-33, numbered 6527 to 6536, and in 2023 twenty more followed as a gift from the Indian government, numbered 6537 to 6556, with a 3,300 horsepower power pack. The BED-30 units haul many of the main broad-gauge express trains, including the Padma and Maitree Express, while the BED-33 units mostly work freight. All are in service.
