The SNCF Class CC 65000 is a class of diesel locomotives built by Alsthom, CAFL and SACM, with 20 examples built between 1956 and 1958. They were most often used in the triangle formed by Nantes to Tours, Tours to Bordeaux and Bordeaux to La Rochelle to Nantes. The series was withdrawn from service between 1981 and 1988, and two examples were preserved: CC 65001 at the Cité du Train in Mulhouse and CC 65005 by the Train des Mouettes. The class is also the basis of the MIFERMA Class CC 01-21 locomotives that Alstom built for the Mauritania Railway between 1961 and 1965, which like the CC 65000 carry two diesel engines, though the MIFERMA locomotives had more powerful versions of them.
