The Dash 8-30C, written C30-8, was one of the unique models in GE's Dash 8 Series, a six-axle diesel-electric locomotive of which only 15 were built, in 1990. All of them were delivered to Australian National and were built by UGL Rail rather than in the United States by GE. It belongs to the Dash 8 Series of freight locomotives, whose members share a turbocharged GE 7FDL four-stroke diesel engine, a modular carbody and direct current traction motors, and whose six-axle models use a C-C wheel arrangement.
