EMD GP60M

Diesel and Electric Locomotives

The EMD GP60M is the North American Safety Cab variant of the GP60, a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. EMD built 63 of them, all for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, which ordered them after its first 40 standard-cab GP60 units. The nose has a headlight slightly offset to the right to make room for the front door, and it was the only 60 Series B-B locomotive with this cab. Santa Fe numbers 100 to 162 were delivered between May and September 1990 and were the first new units in the railroad's revived Super Fleet Warbonnet paint scheme.
