The ALCO RSC-1 was a diesel-electric road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as a six-wheel-truck version of the RS-1. Each truck carried an extra supporting axle, which lowered the load on the rails and let the locomotive run on lighter track such as branch lines. The Russian-language article gives its output as 1,000 horsepower and its factory designation as E1647. Only four were built, in September 1946, with serial numbers 75006 to 75009, and all went to the São Paulo Railway in Brazil as its first diesel locomotives, numbered 500 to 503. They later passed to the Santos-Jundiaí railway and then to RFFSA, and from 1948 they worked alongside the RS-1 units that arrived after them.
