RMS Queen Elizabeth 2

Passenger and Ocean Liner Vessels

RMS Queen Elizabeth 2, commonly known as the QE2, was a British ocean liner built for the Cunard Line that entered service in 1969 as the successor to the earlier Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, designed to operate both as a fast transatlantic liner and as a leisure cruise ship as demand for scheduled ocean crossings declined. She served Cunard for roughly forty years, including a period as a requisitioned troop transport during the 1982 Falklands War, before being retired in 2008 and later converted into a floating hotel moored in Dubai.
