Ducati Monster

The Ducati Monster is an Italian naked-style motorcycle model line built by Ducati, introduced in 1993 and credited with helping define the modern naked motorcycle category, a design stripped of the full bodywork fairings typical of contemporary sport bikes to expose the engine and frame as visible styling elements. Built around Ducati's characteristic desmodromic-valve V-twin engine in a distinctive trellis steel frame, the Monster combined sport-bike performance with a more upright, comfortable riding position than a fully faired sport bike, and its commercial success is widely credited with helping stabilize Ducati's finances during a difficult period for the company in the 1990s. The Monster line has remained one of Ducati's best-selling model families for decades since its introduction.
