Suzuki VX 800

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Suzuki VX800 is a shaft drive V twin street motorcycle manufactured by Suzuki. It was designed at the design studio of United States Suzuki in Brea, California from 1986 to 1989 and produced from 1990 to 1997. Weak sales in the United States ended the American model in 1993, while the European version continued until 1997. There were four versions: a Japanese one with a slightly shorter frame, a European one with a pre production 75 degree crank pin offset for smoother running at high speed, an American one sold from 1990 to 1993 with the 45 degree offset of the Intruder because American test riders found the 75 degree offset dull, and a California version with extra anti smog equipment. The engine came from the Intruder 750 with a 3 mm larger bore for 805 cc, 36 mm carburettors and a back torque limiting clutch, and it has a five speed gearbox.
