The Kawasaki Z900 is a standard motorcycle in the Kawasaki Z series, made since 2017, when it replaced the Z800. It was the flagship of the Z series until the Z H2 arrived as a 2020 model. A retro-styled version, the Z900RS, was unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Show and went on sale in Japan that December and in the United States the following year. The RS takes its looks from the Z1 of 1972, with a different subframe, teardrop tank and duckbill tail, and its engine is tuned differently with a lower-pitched exhaust note. A cafe racer version has a bikini fairing, lower handlebars and a taller seat. In the United States an SE version added an Ohlins rear shock and Brembo calipers in 2023, and the 2026 RS gained a six-axis IMU, cruise control and a quickshifter.
