The Honda VF400F, model code NC13, is a naked or standard motorcycle with a 400 cc four-stroke V4 engine that Honda produced in 1982 and 1983. It was the Japanese-market small member of the first V4 family and had inboard ventilated disc brakes, Honda's torque reactive anti dive control system and air-assisted front and rear suspension. Its engine was the basis of the VF500F, which is not simply an overbored VF400F but an entirely specific engine and chassis with few common parts, and the VFR400 replaced it when the VF series was phased out, mainly because of reliability issues with the head and cam chain.
