The Honda NT650, sold as the Hawk GT and coded RC31, was designed by Toshiaki Kishi and was the second Honda bike with Pro-Arm single-sided suspension, after the RC30. It was among the first wave of modern V-twin naked bikes, released alongside the smaller VT250 Spada and several years before the Ducati Monster and the Suzuki SV650, and is often described as an influential cult bike. The US model, the NT650 Hawk GT 647, was introduced in 1988 and produced through 1991, with an aluminium box frame, a bolted-on rear frame, chain drive and a 58 hp 650 cc engine. Priced above other entry-level models, it did not sell well in America, while Europe got a cousin, the NTV600 Revere, from 1988 to 1992.
