The Honda CBX400F was a standard motorcycle that Honda built from 1981 to 1984, powered by a DOHC 16-valve inline-four producing 48 horsepower. It was Honda's answer to the 400 cc four-cylinder models from Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki that had become popular in the Japanese domestic market in the early 1980s. The 399 cc air-cooled engine breathed through four 26 mm Keihin carburettors, the chassis used a hollow aluminium swingarm with Pro-Link rear suspension and disc brakes at both wheels, and an X-shaped 4-1-2 exhaust set it apart. In 1982 the CBX400F Integra added a fairing and automatic turn signal cancelling, a first for a production motorcycle in Japan, and production gave way to the CBR400F.
