Honda CB750K (RC01)

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Honda CB750K, model code RC01, is a four-cylinder motorcycle that Honda presented at the 1978 IFMA motorcycle show in Cologne as the successor to the original CB750 Four for the European market. Its new air-cooled engine moved to double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, sixteen in total, with a second timing chain driving the intake cams, and the alternator was shifted from the left to the right side to improve balance. The engine displaces 743 cubic centimetres and was credited with 57 kilowatts. Other changes included a transistorised ignition, double front disc brakes, a lower and more heavily padded seat, longer suspension travel and an H4 headlamp. Its published top speed is 200 kilometres per hour for a rider lying down, and it came in blue, black, red and brown.
