The Honda CB650SC, also called the Nighthawk 650, is a standard motorcycle that Honda sold in the United States from 1982 to 1985. In 1982 the Nighthawk replaced the Custom of the previous years and featured a redesigned tank and side covers. From 1983 to 1985 a new DOHC engine replaced the SOHC engine used from 1979 to 1982, with hydraulic valve lash adjusters and rubber mounting, and that year also saw the model move from chain drive to shaft drive. It is part of the Nighthawk family of American-market Honda standards of the early 1980s, descended from the CB650 and sharing its DOHC camshaft with the smaller CB550SC.
