Honda CB400FOUR

The Honda CB400FOUR (model code NC36) was a road sport motorcycle of the 400 cc class in Honda's CB series, built and sold by Honda Motor Co. from 1997 to 2001. It was a sister model of the NC31 CB400 Super Four and shared some components with it, but it was developed as a new naked sport bike that carried the spirit of the 1969 Dream CB750 FOUR into a modern machine. It has a double-cradle frame, chrome front and rear fenders, a four-into-four exhaust and aluminium-rim spoked wheels. Its 399 cc water-cooled four-stroke four-valve DOHC inline-four engine, the NC23E carried over from the CBR400RR, was retuned for this model with different carburettors and a longer intake, giving a maximum output of 53 ps and a five-speed gearbox. It stayed on sale after the CB400 Super Four was redesigned in 1999 and ended production in 2001 because of the 1999 emission regulations. It is a different machine from the older CB400 Four of the 1970s.
