The BMW R1200R (series K27) is a standard motorcycle that BMW Motorrad introduced in 2006 to replace the R1150R, with a weight saving of 25 kg (55 lb) and 28 percent more power. Its air/oil-cooled flat-twin boxer engine produces 80 kW (109 hp) and has dual overhead camshafts, and it uses BMW's signature Telelever front suspension and Paralever rear suspension. Options included ABS, heated grips, an on-board computer and Electronic Suspension Adjustment; a dual spark engine was added for 2007 to meet Euro 3, and in 2011 a revised engine and optional Automatic Stability Control followed. For model year 2015 a completely new R1200R (series K53) arrived with the 125 hp (93 kW) liquid/air-cooled engine of the 2014 and 2015 R1200RT, 100 pounds less weight, a new frame, upside-down telescopic forks and optional Dynamic ESA, and for 2019 the R1250R, with a 1,254 cc ShiftCam engine of 100 kW (136 hp) and a TFT display, succeeded it.
